The Doll Shop was founded in fall 2025, although my dream for starting my hair business started long before then. I’ve always loved fun, bold colors, bouncy and soft hair; and hated ordering hair not knowing whether it’ll be hit or miss on quality. So I decided to switch to buying RAW hair and even then the hair most sellers were marketing off as “Raw” was really just virgin hair; still durable, soft, and good quality; although it was still missing all the other great qualities; long lasting, fullness from top to bottom, and minimum to NO shedding. So I started to research and sample raw hair bundles from different vendors, at just 16 years old purchasing my first ever order of RAW hair, once I tested the strands I immediately began my wear on the hair. Which over the past 6 years of having the hair it has been dyed serval colors, made into many different versions of wigs, and passed from me to my sister to friends and still has maintained its longevity.

I created The Doll Shop to ensure I disperse top quality hair. Hair extensions should be flawless and effortless, so I sourced exquisite single donor hair, and crafted to be seamlessly natural, and flawless. Hair is an investment whether it’s raw hair or virgin hair. There’s some great quality virgin hair out on the market, luckily this store does offer virgin hair as well as raw hair.

What is Virgin hair?

Virgin hair is undergoes light processing, such as steams and chemicals. This causes variation in of color in the bundle itself sometimes, Processing causes the hair to eventually began shedding. Virgin hair is sourced from multiple donors per bundle.

What is RAW hair?

Raw hair is cut from one single donor, with cuticles intact and aligned, being 100% unprocessed. No chemicals, steams, processing, dyes, etc. Raw hair is the highest quality of hair, pure, natural, authentic; It’s unmatched durability and longevity can last 5+ years with proper care

Fully indulging in raw hair also mean fully indulging in proper hair care; keep your bundles looking bubbly, sleek and flawless. Below is how to maintain your hair extensions and wigs for flawless long lasting quality and empowering beauty.

1. Wash & Condition Regularly

Co- wash your hair bundles before installation and every two weeks while in use; using sulfate-free, moisturizing conditioner. Always comb hair throughly to prevent tangling.

*Depending on your hairs natural oil levels you will wash hair more frequently with conditioner* - this is mostly for a sew in styles

2. Hydrate & Moisturize

Hair bundles don’t necessarily get all the natural oils from the scalp to keep it hydrated. So use lightweight oils to maintain softness and shine.

3. Minimize Heat Damage

When using heat for your bundles always use heat protection to prevent dryness and breakage, although raw hair can handle the heat styling its best to always use protection.

4. Protect

Wrap hair in silk or satin fabrics to prevent tangling. Straight hair should be silk pressed wrapped, wavy and curly hair can either be platted or braided.

These steps are helpful for both Raw and Virgin hair. Just because your hair is virgin doesn’t mean its not great quality!
